Infosys Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, having its registered office No. 44, Electronics City, Phase I, Hosur Road, Karnataka – 560 100. Infosys Company is partnering with SAMUHA to implement the registered Gold Standard Project named “Improved Cookstoves CDM Project of SAMUHA”. Project is expected to result in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that are additional to any that would occur in the absence of the Project.
Through this project, SAMUHA intends to disseminate Improved Cook Stoves (ICS) in 110 villages covering 24 Gram Panchayats in Yelburga Taluk of Koppal District, Karnataka. The project will replace inefficient traditional cook stoves in 21,500 households with efficient fuelwood single pan “CHULIKA” cook stoves, in a biomass deficient district of Koppal, Karnataka State in India.
CHULIKA cook stoves will save 2.31 t of CO2/yr/family in this region. The project activity is expected to prevent 46,668 tCO2 emissions in a year by implementing CHULIKA stoves in 21,500 households.
